Miya is a typical name from Japan, a famous samurai. The name was chosen due to the desire to design a collection of tables that would depict and draw inspiration from the armor worn by ancient samurai. Design is basically the result of signs translating and evoking surprise and enchantment, an intuition that, through development and growth, transforms into something unique and sublime.
The initial idea actually confronted materials, simplification and balance, turning into something completely different , probably resembling a flower more than a warrior's armor. This is how Miya was born, a sculptural coffee table that can be composed in a magical game of combinations.
A large transparent glass barrel houses a structure made of colored blown glass and a connecting top made of an exceptionally bright crystal plate combined with a Centrum-colored coating. There are different combinations that give the object different images, from cobalt blue to emerald green, in a play of total transparency and vivid color shades.
Available in two sizes and heights, Miya expresses all Elena Salmistraro's creative charge of respecting the right use of materials in combined with skillful, constructive know-how. A service table, but above all the main character of the residential environment, suitable for a wide variety of architectural contexts.
