Product description
MR 515 SIDE TABLE: THE COMPLEXITY OF SIMPLICITY
Rediscovering a versatile classic: on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus, we have re-released the MR 515 round side table by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The original version is available as a reissue from the 1935 Thonet catalog of tubular steel furniture, with a tubular steel frame and glass top. This table was probably created around 1928 in the context of the Ester and Lange houses in Krefeld designed by Mies van der Rohe. Taking a fresh look at the original, Studio Besau Marguerre has designed more interpretations of the MR 515, resulting in adaptations that showcase the delicately embellished elegance of this classic piece of furniture. It combines modern ideas for use and technical details with a contemporary touch.
Marcel Besau and Eva Marguerre's perspective on the table series remains close to the original design, but the details make the difference. Their interventions are both subtle and technical. Particularly elegant is the central crossing of the table legs under the glass panel. Based on research on the original versions of the table, the idea of an optional shelf was also revived, which adds additional functionality and coziness to the table series.
Side tables in various sizes, chrome or black lacquered steel tube frames with crystal or gray glass tops.
