Product description

The Shoemaker Chair™ is a true classic, manufactured in Denmark since 1936 and still produced by local carpentry shop Form and Refine. The seat is made from a single solid beech wood, and due to variations in wood grain, each Shoemaker Chair™ is completely unique. Turned legs and T-joints together create a harmonious piece of furniture with strong references to the universe of Nordic design.
The structure may seem simple but is technically difficult to make, it is actually a piece of wood the seat must be carved with great precision to ensure maximum comfort. At the end of the process, each model is finished by hand and then proceeds to a three-stage process of staining or oiling the surface. Available in three sizes and different finishes: natural beech and black painted beech.
“From the early stages, we tirelessly optimized the chair, adjusting small aspects year after year – both in the production process and in the finished product. Among other things, T-shaped legs were added to provide additional stability, and the seat was reshaped and rounded so that if the chair falls, the rounded profile protects the top line from cracking. Lars Werner, second generation of the Werner family.
