The design poetics of Sou Fujimoto, one of the main designers of contemporary architecture, meets the technological lightness of Alias, for which he creates a bookchair, a shelf for the home, characterized by a fresh, innovative approach.
The inspiration comes from the relationship of architectural space with the human body, Japanese the architect designed a compact, essential shelf from which a chair can be pulled out. A real object within an object that highlights the human connection with the book: after selecting a book, the reader can take a chair and sit down to read it.
The simple and extremely clear configuration of the shelf is enriched by the soft, winding lines of the chair, which, depending on its purpose, can be placed in the space inside the shelf or can stand freely in the space of the house during use. Thus, the shelf becomes an element of the environment in which it is installed, playing an active, constantly changing role.
Bookchat is available in only one color – white – to emphasize the abstract nature of the product and the strong connections between the content and the container, between the container and the user. The armchair offered in one size is made of wood fiber panels.
