Product description

Targeted limitation of the use of materials, elegance of lines and clarity of effect are the characteristic features of the S 533 model. It owes its special comfort to constant, flexible bending. This effect is due to the fact that Mies van der Rohe designed the front section of the steel tube frame as a large arch made of spring-hard steel tubes. Although most designs from the 1920s were rather simple and functional, this chair clearly conveys the architect's signature: its design combines functionality and comfort with a timeless aesthetic. The chair was first presented at the Weissenhof estate in 1927.
