Product description
292 HILL HOUSE 1 is an iconic chair reflecting the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his fearless approach to the most demanding production processes. It was originally an addition to one of Mackintosh's major projects, Hill House in Helensburgh, near Glasgow, Scotland, from which it takes its name. The linear, geometric form is reminiscent of the minimal, abstract lines of Japanese printmaking, which add symbolic and figurative value to the work's striking visual effect. This work is perceived by many critics not only as a chair, but also as a true treatise on how space can be articulated. The high back is defined by a series of vertical lines topped by a grid of verticals and horizontals. Thanks to the craftsmanship of the furniture makers from Meda, in the Brianza district north of Milan, Cassina has again produced the Hill House chair, which is available in black stained ash with a velvet seat cushion.
Structure / Legs: Solid wood structure ash.
Finish: black stained, matte, transparent open pore finish.
Seat: Solid beech frame with crossed elastic straps. Polyurethane foam and cover in exclusive lavender or oil green velvet.
