4-spoke ottoman with base made of die-cast aluminum, stove-enameled, polished or chrome-plated. Seat covered with Camira®, Kvadrat® fabric or Pelle Frau® leather. British consultancy PearsonLloyd, composed of two successful designers known for their extremely elegant nature, has signed a contract for a collection of slim office furniture for Alias.
This product family fits perfectly into the design philosophy of the Bergamo-based company, which wants to expand its catalog of office furniture while confirming its specially focused research in the field of Made in Italy design.
Finely drawn and slender lines, slim profiles and upholstery with soft, extended edges that combine on the back and lower elements with a backrest made of various materials: these are the characteristic elements of the entire collection.
The family consists of three different types of chairs.
The functional chairs – a narrow task – are equipped with the Donati weight-sensitive synchronizing mechanism, which guarantees high comfort because it allows synchronized movement of the seat and backrest: the tension of the backrest angle depends depending on the user's weight.
The bare bones of the mechanism were used to keep the thickness to a minimum: the resulting chair is extremely slim and elegant, as well as extremely comfortable thanks to the polyurethane padding and internal flexible structure. As with the bicycle design, it was possible to achieve simplicity and harmony between the mechanical and aesthetic elements.
