TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Fabric or leather
- Removable covers.
- Construction: injection-molded foam on an F1 steel frame. Seat equipped with an elastic band.
- Legs: solid ash wood (see stain table) with anti-slip stoppers.
- Lumbar pillow: H200g fiber.
- Cylindrical pillow: fire-resistant memory foam covered with H150g fiber . The etymological roots of the word Diwan traveled a long journey from India to Persia, through the Ottoman Empire and throughout the Maghreb: the diwan was the "ambassador's room" where members of the royal family received foreign dignitaries. As a token of appreciation, these guests were treated to a variety of luxuries, one of which was getting comfortable for conversation. Therefore, in Europe, the word couch refers to a long, padded seat, usually without a backrest, on which to lie down.
Valencia's Arabic heritage inspired PerezOchando to design the contemporary Diwan rug. The offer includes a chaise longue, as well as modular benches and an original armchair.
Claudia and Pedro reduced the sinuous curves of the seats and backrests to an absolute minimum, giving the design lightness. The formal simplicity of the legs provides a touch of distinction. Available in natural or stained wood, they can be combined or contrasted with the upholstery.
The benches can be used separately or combined to create long compositions. Designed for sitting, not lounging, they have a higher seat height than a couch. Deckchairs and armchairs provide greater support and more relaxed seating.
Wooden cushions increase the comfort of the seats and add another color to the composition. Cylindrical roll cushions are perfect for sofa armrests and add another play element.
Whether as a flirty element in the bedroom or to enjoy long conversations with friends; as a bench for a mueseum or other public space, a long composition for a large waiting room, the Diwan series will offer you luxurious seats.
Diwan is the first collaboration of the PerezOchando studio with Sancal, although Claudia and Pedro also collaborated on such unique and recognizable projects of the company as Silla40 or Tartan during their stay in Nadador's studio.
