Product description
Designed in 1930, the Barcelona daybed has the same simple elegance as the iconic lounge chair of the same name. Mies van der Rohe's command of lines and materials in all media, from architecture to furniture, helped define the modern vocabulary. FEATURES Distinctive KnollStudio design, manufactured to Mies' original specifications. Exclusive production rights and sales were awarded to Knoll by the designer in 1953. The KnollStudio logo and Mies van der Rohe's signature are stamped on the base of each daybed. CONSTRUCTION Hardwood frame with protective clear varnish. The legs are made of tubular steel with a polished stainless steel finish. The 72 individual leather panels are cut, hand-welded and hand-tufted, and the panels and buttons are made of single leather. FINISHES />Available in a wide range of Spinneybeck leathers. This product is available with BS5852 foam. AWARDS Museum of Modern Art Award, 1977.
