Bonaparte is one of the few cases where the luxurious comfort of an upholstered chair has been successfully combined with a tubular steel structure. The result is both ease and comfort. Actually intended as a piece of furniture for living rooms, Eileen Gray found the Bonaparte so pleasant that for decades she used it as a desk chair in her Paris home on Rue Bonaparte.
