The DS-255 armchair was designed by the de Sede design team. Apart from the ubiquitous status symbol that is the car, this chair is the only contemporary industrial product that has occupied the greatest interest of designers for centuries. No other chair has been as thoroughly scrutinized, celebrated, and often subjected to such insightful criticism as this chair. DS-255 is, we are almost tempted to say, a late tribute to Vasily Kandinsky, the Russian-French painter and creator of absolute art. The DS-255 armchair can rightly be called "avant-garde".
