Gogan is an armchair with elements made of flame-retardant polyurethane foam of various densities, covered with polyester fiber filling on a wooden frame. Polyurethane available to Cal TB117 Flame Retardant or BS 5852, cot 5. Black polypropylene legs screwed to frame.
Gogan collection covers are removable. The Gogan collection takes its name from nature, and in particular from Japanese stones smoothed by time and water, which became the inspiration for this project. This name was given to Japanese stones placed to protect and beautify the banks of rivers and lakes. The form of the sofa, like the form of the armchair, reminds us of flat stones carved by wind and water, solid and at the same time smooth enough to lie on.
Just like in rock sculptures, where the stones maintain balance through careful positioning and intertwining, this shape maintains the balance between the elements of the Gogan sofa and armchair, which are not very regular. By playing with gravity and balance, we can add lightness to usually heavy shapes.
The seats are soft and irregular, and the center of gravity is slightly tilted back. This provides exceptional comfort and allows you to lower the backrest. The backrest and seat are connected with brackets that give the sofa lightness, giving the impression that it is suspended above the ground.
