Studying mid-20th century hunting chairs, designers Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl created a modern interpretation of the low-slung hunting chair, with a design inspired by Japanese jointing combined with Danish stick chairs from the 1950s. Samurai is a highly regarded chair-making product based on the stick chair design popular in the 1950s, combining various sections of turned oak wood that provide seating comfort and tectonic geometry. The chair is beautifully complemented by a highly crafted round oak section that blends into the back in an elegant form, complementing the iconic samurai silhouette. The Samurai is offered with a leather saddle that folds around the chair like armor and easily supports the body. The seat is attached with brass rivets for maximum strength, while the backrest is secured with adjustable leather straps and brass buckles.
