Product description

Designer armchair with soft, voluminous contours, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in the 1960s to provide everyday homely comfort, is upholstered in high-quality Japanese denim in a limited edition that highlights its unconventional spirit.
Denim It is processed to make it soft and comfortable. Special treatment gives it the typical faded look of worn jeans. The metal structure holds the chair in a vice-like grip, creating several different contemporary color combinations.
The denim version of Soriana maintains the same sustainable approach as its namesake, and features circular materials for both construction and padding. Even the denim is processed in an environmentally friendly way, reducing water consumption.
BASE

LINING
In BioFoam® microspheres (inner) and blown 100% recycled PET fiber from Plastic Bank® (outer).
CLAMP
Made of powder-coated steel, blue, black or white.
A true style icon, Soriana was designed in 1969 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and received the Compasso d'Oro award a year later. Defined by generous curves, Soriana is wrapped in generous upholstery that is secured with a giant metal buckle, creating loose folds around the entire body. The aesthetics of the furniture are further enhanced by the quilting effect created by the upholstered buttons on both the seat and back cushions.
Cassina has now introduced a selection of chromatic combinations that combine lush fabrics and soft leathers with a black, blue, burgundy, metal frame painted green and white. To meet the demands of fans of the original version, it will also be available with a chrome support.
Available as an armchair, chaise longue, two- or three-seater sofa and pouffe, Soriana combines comfort with informal style.
Soriana maintains the same concept to this day design and distinctive aesthetic appeal, while its structure and materials have been completely rebuilt to achieve an eco-friendly version that aims to reduce environmental impact and increase levels of comfort thanks to work carried out by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between Cassina's Research and Development Center and Poli. design at the Politecnico di Milano.
The original polyurethane construction of this version has been completely replaced by a series of bags filled with microspheres made of BioFoam®, the first patented foam with an organic base made of biopolymers produced from natural raw materials. This material is durable and suitable for long-term use, while being biodegradable and industrially compostable.
Seating comfort is further enhanced by a 100% recycled blown fiber padding manufactured from PET recovered from Plastic Bank®. Thanks to the involvement of local communities, plastic is collected before it reaches the sea, supporting a conscious circular economy. The lining lining is also made of the same material, wrapping the structure like a soft quilt.
