Reclining, cozy and dynamic: the Galeotta armchair has liftable cushions and, when opened, unfolds to create a chaise longue and a sofa. It is made entirely of polyurethane foam of varying density and does not have a supporting frame or internal mechanisms. It consists of three geometric blocks with an irregular profile, allowing you to create three different configurations, for a sitting or semi-reclining position with two different inclinations of the backrest module. The outer, removable fabric cover also functions as a zipper during the conversion process: it holds the three seat elements together, allowing them to be lifted up. An informal and versatile armchair to meet a variety of comfort and space requirements, ideal both at home and in contract and wellness spaces.
Galeotta embodies the principle of simple and functional design. Designed by Jonathan De Pasa, Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi in 1968, it was an innovative and revolutionary design from the very beginning that helped usher in a profound change in lifestyle, breaking down and revolutionizing the concept of the traditional armchair while introducing different ways of sitting and enjoying home.
Zanotta, in collaboration with designer Paolo Lomazzi, has renewed the style of the Galeotta armchair using fashionable materials and different dimensions compared to the original design.
