The Proust armchair designed by Alessandro Mendini, one of the most recognized works of art in the world, was introduced to the market in 1978, when it was used to furnish the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara during an exhibition entitled "Incontri ravvicinati di architettura" (Close Encounters of Architecture). Soon after, the postmodern look of this piece of furniture attracted the attention of connoisseurs and design experts on an international scale.
This new edition of the iconic armchair has a traditional, hand-carved and hand-painted wooden frame with a solid cover made of multi-colored fabric echoing the frame's decor.
The Proust armchair is produced in two different multi-colored palettes: light blue/gray/yellow or black/green/red.
Structure: hand-carved and hand-painted massive beech
Filling: polyurethane foam of various densities
Cover: multi-colored fabric matched in color to the structure
