If we think about how to depict a sofa in a white sheet, we would certainly draw something very similar to this model. What happens is what happens: the paradigm, the essence of today's sofa.
Happen aims to be normal, which is why it was conceived to transcend passing fashion; its timeless shapes go beyond this. Rafa García didn't try to reinvent anything, he simply practiced good design - taking into account proportions, materials, seams - and the ability to create dynamic compositions; always with the belief that every detail is really important, even the smallest one.
The project avoids grand gestures and tricks, but focuses on neutral forms and simplicity as the basis of the collection and its development. It is the appearance of normality that makes this product stand out. Details are explored without artificiality. Rafa thus sticks to the philosophy that promoted Naoto Fukasawa and Jasper Morrison through the exhibition Super Normal, Sensations of the Ordinary.
Happen uses a narrow L-shaped base to integrate all the elements. It's more than a puzzle, it's a large modular program, closer to a modular furniture system than upholstery.
Invisible details are even more important: the seat cushions are made of a special polyurethane composition, 6 cm is added on top. deep layer of memory foam.
