PIVÅ design Kauppi & Kauppi is a series of solid wood pedestal tables, each of which creates a natural setting where people can gather and meet. The shape of the pedestal base is inspired by the way the majestic trunk of a deciduous tree expands to meet the ground on which it stands and spreads its roots. The form of the base may seem simple and obvious, but in fact it is a complex structure, specially designed to ensure long-term stability and durability.
The goal was to fully utilize all the material in the wooden board structure, so that nothing would go to waste. First, the board is cut into many pieces. They are then shuffled and mixed, then reassembled layer by layer and carefully ground to obtain the final smooth base line. This process highlights the natural tones of the wood and highlights the grain, with the heartwood grain creating an almost floral effect, giving each table a unique pattern and identity.
The PIVÅ collection includes many different types of tables for all types of rooms, settings and contexts. The largest of them are large enough to create perfect conference tables or dining room tables. Medium-sized tables are perfect for use in cafes or for spontaneous and informal meetings. The smallest one can be used as a coffee table or impressive pedestals for plants or objects on display.
PIVÅ is available in heights of 560, 650, 730, 900 and 1050 mm, with rectangular, square, round and oval tops in a large selection of sizes. The countertops are made of veneered MDF board with an edge strip. The plinths are constructed of solid wood around a metal core and stand on a solid wood base with plastic floor protectors. You can choose from oak, ash, standard ash stains and white glaze on oak or ash. The countertops are also available in a laminate finish (white, black, oak, ash) and as a black countertop. Several types of electrical sockets are available for rectangular and oval tabletops.
PIVÅ tables are delivered unassembled. Just a few hand tools are enough to dismantle individual table elements after many years of continuous use.
