Joints play a key role in all types of structures: although they are usually not visible, and sometimes even invisible at all, they provide stability and solidity. Design considerations for the Hug tables revolved around them. The frame literally hugs the legs, clamping them in the curves that follow its outline. The connections fulfill their structural role comprehensively, while giving the tables a very characteristic look. Moreover, its positioning within easy reach just below the table top means that the frame also serves another purpose, supporting three accessories that can be moved and attached freely: a bag hanger, a tray and a pen holder.
