Solid walnut One of the last living pioneers of mid-20th century Scandinavian design and an architectural pioneer of her time, Bodil Kjær created her main series in 1961 within the architectural framework searching for interior design solutions for modern life, called Elements of Architecture. The Primary series, consisting of a dining table and an upholstered dining chair, embodies Kjær's forward-looking, cosmopolitan outlook and a modernist design language that blends seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
The solid wood dining table has a clear form, repeating in in all its simplicity, the straight angle of the table leg and the ends of the top, while the dining chair with a round seat and gently rounded backrest, beautifully upholstered, adds softness to the transparent, uncomplicated geometry, encouraging relaxation.
