Product description
This elegant, classic bentwood model is a masterpiece in its design and production: the projecting frame that forms both the backrest and armrest is bent to shape from a single piece of solid beech wood. Like the original model of all bent chairs, no. 214, chair no. 209 also consists of only six parts. Due to its aesthetic reduction combined with its organic form, it almost resembles a sculpture. The Swiss architect Le Corbusier, fascinated by it, used it in many of his buildings, e.g. in the Weissenhof estate in Stuttgart in 1927. He confirmed that "...this chair has nobility." It is manufactured at our facility in Frankenberg.
