Product description

Resembling a silhouette rather than a solid shape, the rope chair is a line drawing translated into three dimensions, a simple artistic gesture rendered in space. Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the chair is a synthesis of contrasts: refined engineering and creative expression, solid construction and flexible elements, rigid pipes and flexible rope. The rope, created for marine use, is at the heart of the chair's unexpected comfort; part of the supporting structure allows you to adapt the chair to the people who use it. Where other chairs dictate a specific way of sitting, a rope chair encourages creativity in posture, encouraging dynamic movement and position changes. When a sitting person rises, traces of the body on which he or she was last leaning remain on the frame of the chair, the imprint of the user, which co-defines its shape.
The rope chair is available in two versions:
