The large Aspa coffee table perfectly demonstrates how the series creates a mesmerizing sense of depth. Long, straight panels of smooth and rippled glass converge at the center of the table, and as each panel intersects, the table's transparency deepens. The mix of visual intrigue and textured surfaces requires closer examination.
The series is an exercise in simple geometry - aspa translates to the intersection of straight planes. Each table consists of five glass panels converging in the center. As each simple is introduced, the colored transparency of the glass form darkens, giving the series a layered aesthetic. This layered form is emphasized by the combination of smooth glass surfaces placed on the chapel's undulated and textured glass panels. Each panel changes reflections and transparency, creating a mesmerizing centerpiece.
The table is made of textured chapel glass attached to tempered glass panels. Bubbles, streaks and other differences in size and color are part of the manufacturing process and not a design or manufacturing defect.
The aspa series consists of three varieties of coffee tables and side tables and is available in a variety of colors that add another dimension to this captivating collection.
