Product description

harmonious combination of traditional styles defines the new N.200 lounge chair from Michael Anastassiades. This work is a refined expression of GTV's style and its deep vocation for design innovation. The seat is a perfect combination of the brand's history and the tradition of bent wood, whose roots go back over two centuries in design culture. Continuing the long-standing tradition of naming armchairs by increasing numbers, N.200 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the opening of the first carpentry workshop, founded by Michael Thonet in Boppard in 1819. With a deeply harmonious stylistic approach, the renowned designer used his poetic yet disciplined hand to create some of the archetypal design elements of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna: bent beech wood and a woven cane. These become the distinguishing features of N.200, where method and form combine to create a timeless chair with a deliberately pure, minimalist elegance. The company and designer focus on attention to detail: the wooden structure has curves that create the armrests and feet with apparent simplicity, demonstrating the high manufacturing standards at GTV, while the woven cane seat and backrest contribute to the overall feeling of lightness.
