The small armchair, named Luisa, is the result of a fifteen-year research process focused on creating an archetype of the basic elements of the chair and its potential uses in the home. A project based on the idea in which Franco Albini expressed the concept of "substance in form", increasing the volume of wooden parts in places where they connect with others. After many improvements, the final version of the chair was awarded the prestigious Compasso D'Oro award by the Italian Association of Industrial Design (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale/ADI). The frame is a synthesis in which the seat and backrest are two geometric planes suspended on a subtle wooden structure, and the sides resemble trestles. Luisa is a timeless work, the result of skill, both in technique and materials. This world-exclusive reissue of Cassina was made possible thanks to the company's extraordinary woodworking capabilities.
