Lilian is a descendant of famous parents. In 1910, Josef Hoffmann created a new type of furniture in the form of Alleegasse: a modern, compact, free-standing armchair with a light appearance that will suit any environment. In 1986, Paolo Piva created Aura, another global bestseller in this category. And now these classics, still produced by Wittmann, are joined by a new, fresh design. Lilian pays tribute to Josef Hoffmann and Paolo Piva. Avoiding short-term trends, its development turned to the principles of design: playing with geometric shapes, reducing to the necessary dimensions, searching for archetypal beauty.
Lilian is an extremely attractive combination of Bauhaus and organic design. The clear, square form of the chair body transforms into an ergonomic, round bend of the backrest and armrests. There is nothing left to add and nothing to take away. Lilian is light and slim, long-legged and graceful, offering the perfect ratio of space and comfort. The armchair includes classic Wittmann pocket spring mats, providing exceptional and lasting seating comfort.
The minimal appearance, seams allow the form, color and material to bask in the spotlight. Anyone who prefers to move away from pure simplicity can let their imagination run wild. Lilian is available in a straight version with a smooth cover or in a casual, laid back and ruffled version. Another option is two-tone: Lilian is either covered with a material of the same color inside and out, or in a two-tone variant with different colors inside and outside. This creates exciting combinations: soft leather and structured fabrics, velvets and smooth fabrics, monochromatic textiles and patterned covers.
Lilian is also available as a high dining chair.
