Twils presents Polet, a functional but unusual armchair/bed designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1992 and which Twils decided to remake again. The Polet has a solid beech wood construction with a black lacquered finish, equipped with a brass connector enabling four different recline positions.
The idea for Twils to create a new edition of the Polet was born in 2020, during lockdown, from a conversation between Giovanna Castiglioni, narrator and founder, together with her brother Carlo, of the Achille Castiglioni foundation dedicated to her father, and Matteo Ragni, artistic director of Twils.
"Twils has always been strongly oriented towards design," says Vilma Carnieletto, co-owner and director of communications of the company - "That's why I wholeheartedly agreed the idea of reviving such an important and important work by the great Achille Castiglioni. Polet sums up and conveys the entire core content of our brand: it is a comfortable and functional armchair that can also be transformed into a bed, offering a design with clean, decisive lines. In particular, it contains a textile element that can be interpreted with elegance and creativity, in the style of Twils.
