Product description

sculptural seat with a pure and rationalistic form, this chair became the authentic Manifesto of Neoplasticism, adopted by the Dutch De Stijl movement in 1917. A view shared by Piet Mondrian, whose goal was the search for the essential nature of things combined with the harmonious equivalence of colors and the use of a right angle. Rietveld produced its first prototypes in 1918, expressing the philosophy of organizing space by using the same colors for similar components. He later used the same approach to separate structural elements according to their functions. So the base was black and the seats were colored. As a result, the name of the furniture was changed from slatted chair to red and blue.
Seat/backrest
· Birch plywood panel with beech veneered edges and tops.
Polyester lacquer finish, semi-polished, blue (seat) and red (backrest).
Structure
· Massive beech wood. Black lacquered finish, with yellow or white edges of the crossbars.
The chair frame construction system is based solely on a sequence of joints and wooden dowels.
