traditional sofa is a wooden frame covered with padding and upholstery. Designer Mark Goetz turned this tradition on its head by wrapping his sofa in a striking molded wood veneer shell to create both a structural frame and a striking profile. Crisp, clean lines and ergonomic support - an instant Herman Miller classic.
To achieve the wood veneer look, an intricate bevel was used at each corner, allowing the molded veneer to completely wrap around the sides and back. There is only one seam on the entire shell.
The shell is available in several beautiful wood veneers.
The upholstery, which meets the veneer with a subtle, discreet edge, can be made of leather or one of many fabric choices.
The matte finish of the metal legs adds contemporary charm.
Recognizing that people do not they only sit on the edge of the sofa cushions, designer Mark Goetz made sure that his sofa is comfortable, no matter what position you are in. Thick cushions and a balanced seat depth - shallow enough to provide proper support when sitting upright and deep enough to provide enough space for a nap - ensure both proper ergonomic support and comfort.
