Product description
The Riihitie B pot is available in several colors, and specific shades come from ceramic tiles custom-made for several buildings in Aalto: blue glaze, white glaze, gray glaze, dark brown glaze. Made of ceramic, this planter has a curved, organic shape with no corners and was originally created by Aino Aalto for the terrace of the house she and Alvar built on Riihitie Road in Helsinki. Reinterpreted in three sizes for indoor use, the flower pot embodies the Aalto family's belief that even the smallest details are worth our time and attention. Although the pot appeared at Artek's presentation at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937, it was never put into mass production. The pot is handcrafted from ceramic, a material that is central to Aalto's construction vocabulary.
