Product description
The original sketch of Paravento Balla, designed by Giacomo Balla in 1917, fully reflects the revolutionary principles of the Futurist movement of which he was a major advocate.
Bright colors are back
Sketch by Giacomo Balla, first published by Maurizio Fagiolo dell 'Arco, in the book "Balla: a futuristic reconstruction of the universe" (Rome, 1968), is a tempera and pencil on paper, made on the back of two identical photographs of a motionless man unknown today. Both models bear the stamp "Boccioni's Fist", which Balla sometimes used to sign his works instead of the signature "Futurba lla". Next to the drawing there are tips on the use of color and possible chromatic combinations.
An artistic expression for the home
Today, in collaboration with the heirs of Giacomo Balla, Cassina brings to life this brightly colored accessory to divide and complement different areas home with a wonderful artistic accent. Paravento Balla consists of three panels of different heights and widths made of honeycomb wood, connected to each other by satin brass hinges. Cassina hinges have been developed through a careful interpretation of the original design, thanks to research carried out by the Cassina Research and Development Center, thus enabling the furniture to be opened and moved in both directions, as well as making it aesthetically more elegant.
Decoration made by screen printing after on both sides is available in two versions: with an orange background in yellow and green, resembling the colors of Balla's sketch, and with a white background in blue and green, which is a completely different, adjacent color range in the spirit of free interpretation encouraged by the words the artist's daughter.
Like all products from the Cassina I Maestri Collection, each piece is marked with the author's logo and signature as well as a progressive number corresponding to his ID card.
