Fascinating objects on the border of art and design, works inspired by difficult, long-accepted definitions, this unprecedented artistic synthesis is a symbol of the ethics of nature and craftsmanship. Brazilian designer Domingos Tótora gives objects made of recycled cardboard all the authentic intensity of the material, which is transformed and gains new life. Mantiqueira is made as a result of a labor-intensive, sustainable and certified process in which recycled cardboard is crushed into small elements and reduced to a semi-liquid form. These pieces are then worked by hand to shape the sculptural pieces and sun-dried before the finished product is prepared. The artistic approach has an almost suggestive character, referring to cardboard derived from wood, a new look imbued with a quality very similar to the wood itself from which it is made. Beauty and respect are the keywords of a new and concrete vision of sustainable furniture accessories.
