Inspired by: Kettal Giro
Product description
Giro is a foldable chair with armrests. The initial and main idea and research behind the Giro collection was about the rope, using it in a different way by sewing them together to create the shape of the product itself. A big source of inspiration was the Orkney chair. A perfect example of vernacular product design, this classic inspired me to draw inspiration from the past while taking into account Kettal's technological expertise today. While in Orkney the ropes were made from real ropes, Giro relies on the flexibility of recycled polypropylene rope and the need for industrial production of such a collection. There is respect for tradition and craftsmanship, but translated into a modern, up-to-date version, taking full advantage of Kettal's current technology and know-how. Based on natural material, to a very sustainable material that is resistant to all weather conditions.
