Antonio Citterio has developed and created Hybrid, a new, innovative system of modular seating elements that is so versatile that it can be arranged in an almost infinite number of combinations. The key role of the textile dimension is immediately apparent, with the upholstery completely covering the generous padding, which is the absolute hero. These are typical interior design elements that find an external interpretation in Hybrid. Hence the name of the collection, which is intended to be a real link between the interior and exterior of the house. Hybrid is in fact the ideal furnishing element for climates and spaces defined by a continuous connection of indoor and outdoor environments, with rooms opening to the outdoor dimension and for living spaces integrated with terraces and gardens. The combination of opposites takes place not only visually, but also through the sense of touch. Hybrid, in fact, guarantees the comfort typical of traditional upholstered furniture for interiors, thanks to a new type of mattress seat intended for interior furnishings. The pillows are actually made of paddings of various densities, carefully designed to fit comfortably to the body and at the same time support it without sinking. The supporting structures are almost invisible, and the seat gives the impression of floating a few centimeters above the floor. The solid base is formed by a frame made of extruded aluminum painted in sage, clay and anthracite colors, and the whole is complemented by a platform with fiberglass slats. The backrest conceals an aluminum structure covered with soft polyurethane, which in turn is covered with a padded sheath, supplemented with a cover made of waterproof fabric. The platform is available in eight sizes and two depths, while the armrest and backrest are available in two heights. To provide greater comfort to the deeper seat, the low backrest can be raised with an additional headrest cushion. The Hybrid collection also includes a series of new outdoor fabrics made of melange polypropylene yarn in five color variants, which are highlighted with refined trims. Choices that confirm a decisive and elegant presence in interiors and exterior spaces.
