The 13&9
BuzziPleat series of architectural solutions provides light and sound control with an architectural flair. The series reinterprets ancient fashion design techniques such as gathering and pleating to create large-scale, yet lightweight sculptural forms made of sound-absorbing BuzziFelt.
Architectural folds maximize surface area while providing exceptional acoustic properties. The hanging acoustic pendant lights can be configured with or without a light source to combine sound control and lighting in one multi-functional product.

BuzziPleat looks very similar to an essential Renaissance fashion item: the battalion. 13&9 designers were inspired by historical sewing techniques such as gathering and pleating. These techniques could be used - before the advent of elastic - to produce comfortable clothing with the required elasticity and stretch. When applied to rigid BuzziFelt, the fabric folds into a complex architectural form that requires no internal support. Moreover, the panel remains surprisingly light, which is an advantage when installing it.
Architectural pleats maximize the sound-absorbing surface, thus providing a unique acoustic solution. If you hang BuzziPleat from the ceiling, you can also connect it to a light source: this is useful, for example, above a table or seating area.
Two patterns, two sizes, many colors
The collection consists of two patterns; BuzziPleat Ripple and BuzziPleat Edel. Both can be hung from the ceiling or attached to the wall. Each model is also available in two sizes with a diameter of 100 or 150 cm.
BuzziPleat is available in BuzziFelt (OffWhite, StoneGrey, Lime or Anthracite). The finishing thread is OffWhite or Black. You can also choose to line BuzziPleat with additional material for more color and finish options.
