The first set of solutions from the GEN_VMT collection, winner of the reddot Product Design Award 2020, are Penray 02 tiles. Available in 4 different shapes, these tiles can be combined according to the will of each person. This product explores the potential of the 3D effect. It is the result of geometric research in the field of pentagonal tiles, where each individual element has the shape of a pentagon. In this exploratory work, we were looking for a shape grammar that would enable the generation of infinite combinations of single or double main shapes.
Hexagonal modules, organized according to a specific rule, transport us to a magical world like Cornelis Escher's Maurits. The intelligent use of color enhances the potential of this generative design.
GEN_VMT Penray 02 is available in 12 packs, including 3 units of an intermediate relief shape, 3 units of a more cropped relief shape and 6 units of a flat shape.
