Difficult to explain, but easy to understand once you try, Lapso is a new addition to the Sancal catalog. The work of Lesur & Venot was honored with the Hermès award for the best author of the design in 2014. Many years later, Sancal rescued this unique vertical hammock, perfect for crowded public spaces, allowing you to relax and gain a moment of privacy. “Like a private alcove that provides shelter and peace for yourself,” explains Marc.
This slim and quiet upholstered furniture attaches to the wall like a work of art. After immersing yourself in this "picture", you can enjoy a quiet moment.
The "hood" contributes to improved acoustics thanks to curved, upholstered panels. The shape reflects sound back to the caller, causing them to naturally lower their voice, and the padded upholstery helps dampen the reverberation in the room.
Improving acoustics in public spaces is undoubtedly an important function. However, Lapso's verticality adds another unique feature, a new kind of comfort for a short break in a busy environment, while traveling or for quiet reflection in the middle of the office where everything is happening very fast. As a "do not disturb" signal, Lapso communicates that "you are in brackets".
A wide range of textiles with acoustic properties for the hood can be freely combined with 5 mesh colors, although we recommend combinations selected by designers.
