OIVA, a chair characterized by a comfortable curved plywood backrest, reinterprets the classic wooden chair with lightness and elegance.
A stackable chair with a solid ash frame, seat and backrest in curved plywood, lacquered in several finishes. It glides on polyethylene. The inspiration came from a childhood memory of a kitchen chair in a house in Northern Europe. Starting from a family album, Antti Kotilainen created OIVA, a wonderful new kitchen chair from Lapalma. In Finnish, "OIVA" means "something good". And goodness can be found primarily in classic lines, made more contemporary, minimalist and light. The goodness lies primarily in wood as a raw material, which is recyclable ash plywood from FSC-certified forests. Wood was used to build the frame, a wide, surrounding backrest made of bent plywood and a bent seat, which can be padded and upholstered with fabric upon request. Lightweight, stackable and perfect for the kitchen or living room, OIVA brings homely warmth to all public spaces.
