Hug is a polypropylene garden chair that can be stacked. An extremely characteristic element was designed for the HUG chair and armchair: between the seat and backrest, which have rounded and balanced shapes for best usability, the designers introduced a band element, wrapping like an embrace. Luxury that can be enjoyed both outside and inside, in line with the established trend of treating both environments with the same aesthetic codes. Two variants are available: you can choose the all-techno-polymer version, which is particularly graphic and beautiful from every perspective, defined by an embossed stripe motif throughout the surface; or more graceful, with the addition of a seat cushion and fabric-covered padded tape to increase the effect of enveloping comfort.
The designers declare: “The HUG collection represents the consolidation of the collaboration between Meneghello Paolelli and S •TAXI. It is a complex and ambitious project that began with the company's theory, the monocoque chair, and which aims to solve real problems of usability and sustainability that represent today's society."
The HUG is technically a technopolymer monocoque, but in In fact, it is a flexible system in which elements combine to create various configurations of chairs and armchairs. Designed for outdoor use, it also fits well indoors, with the possibility of covering some of its parts with fabric. The concept of this chair comes from the balance between two key elements: the seat and the backrest. Two equivalent soft shapes, dimensionally related to each other, in perfect balance. A structure is built around them, an organic continuity connecting these two parts. The introduction of the band creates a bridge between the seat and the backrest, a discreet connection that fundamentally transforms the chair, thus creating a new product. The chair is surrounded by a real and proper embrace, which changes its aesthetics and functionality: the original body defines the chair.
