Sayl designer Yves Béhar and our development team considered and rethought every part of the design and ultimately created a complete seating family that sets the benchmark in its class in terms of quality, performance and design.‎
Since its introduction, the Sayl chair has been a perfect example of responsible design. Inspired by suspension bridges, structures that provide the most with the least amount of material, Yves Béhar applied the engineering principles of these incredible structures to create Sayl. The Eco-Dematerialized® work chair design uses less material in a more inventive way to provide ergonomic support for people weighing up to 159 kg. Sayl now covers up to 1.37 kg (3 lb) per chair of mismanaged plastic waste found near waterways (plastic extracted from the ocean). Sayl with Ocean Bound plastic is available in all office chair and stool colors. Herman Miller estimates that by adding ocean plastics to Sayl and other products in its range, it will divert up to 326 tons of ocean plastic each year, which is the equivalent of preventing water from entering 32 million bottles.* Unframed 3D Intelligent® Back by Sayl allows you to stretch and move, providing a healthy balance of freedom and support. The elastomer strands vary in thickness and tension to provide more support in transition areas along the spine and less support everywhere else to encourage a full range of motion in the seated position. Provides PostureFit® integrated sacrum support that enables your body to maintain a healthy, upright posture with less fatigue. Harmonic Tilt supports your natural way of moving, providing smooth and balanced support. The base shell of the fully upholstered work chair mimics intelligent 3D suspension, providing similar dynamic support to a more traditional backrest. Optional lumbar support is available on both work chair models and provides an adjustment range of 10 cm. From a design standpoint, Sayl's Y-Tower® support and unframed backrest create a striking visual aesthetic that reveals both the inspiration and intent of the designer. Whether you choose a full-suspension or upholstered backrest, the bold color palette provides plenty of options to personalize your chair. Sayl chairs are manufactured on three continents to reduce the distance between the factory and the buyer. This product is PVC-free and consists of over 30% recycled materials.
