Nothing but unexpected, PUPIL is full of surprises and contradictions. Using nature as his muse, Dutch designer Basten Leijh created this organic, quirky shape: a downlight that does the opposite. Nonconformity and functionality combine beautifully in our new family, and there is more to it than you might think. Small and sinuous, the oval shape ends abruptly, cut at an angle. Organic design inspired by the curious eyes of a crab; STUDENT is not a discreet word. Requires attention. Unlike most recessed downlights, this one sticks out playfully from the ceiling.
The asymmetry and adjustability of PUPIL create optical puzzles that will make your expressions pop. The light output and housing position simply cannot match. To direct the light beam straight down, tilt the housing slightly upwards. To obtain a 30° beam angle, point the housing straight down. Tilt the body 30° and you can orient the light at an angle of 60°, which will create a blurred effect on the wall. Just as this new design fits perfectly into the miniaturization trend, PUPIL fits perfectly in your hand. Thanks to the fixtures built into the ceiling, only the inquisitive little eye will emit warm light to illuminate upscale residences and architectural lighting expressions in hotel facilities and small boutiques.
Despite its small size, PUPIL can endure a lot of choices. PUPIL is available with a wide range of dimming solutions: Tre di, 1-10 V, Pushdim and DALI and is ready to connect.
