Product description

The WETLAND table lamp is made of ABONOS oak wood preserved in EXTRACLAR RESIN, reminiscent of the water that has held it for millennia. The base is made of oxidized steel. The natural wood surface is not covered with resin on the cross-sectional planes because Alcarol always uses a selective wood coating with a matt, natural effect. Wetlands are a water-saturated ecosystem that, in some cases, preserves materials such as wood for millennia. Abonos is a Celtic name that indicates a "fossil" type of wetwood in some rare alluvial areas in the Alps, where minerals and water have begun the process of semi-fossilization of the submerged trees. The currents bind the minerals and iron in the water with the tannins in the wood, naturally hardening and staining the wood. This is clearly visible in the chromatic scale of the wood's grain - changing from gold to black - with always unique shades.
This wood is finally coming to light like a jewel of the past, thanks to the careful, complex work of recovery and processing. Like water over millennia, the transparent alcarol resin surrounds the organic shapes of this unique wood, preserving and emphasizing all its preciousness and charm.
