Made of rare and beautiful handmade Akita and Mino cedar washi paper, Nagoya's design reinterprets the traditional rectangular lamp used in the mid-Edo period and is the result of careful research conducted on many historical books and old tools. Akita cedar is suitable for making lamps because it does not crack, warp, expand or contract, and is easy to work with. The frame is assembled by a master craftsman specializing in lighting joinery, using only exquisite joints and joinery without any metal fittings.
