Product description

Muse is a light sculpture made of opal blown glass with a metal structure and a marble base. Like the metaphysical artists of the early 20th century, Fabio Novembre presents his muses as faceless figures, willing not to see or hear the tragic events that dominated that era. It traps them in the metal, locking them in place. And it perfectly expresses the paralysis of World War I. Muse is only available as a table lamp.
“In 1916, to escape the terrible madness of war, a group of young men pretended to be sick in the Villa Seminario military medical center in Ferrara. These guys were named: Giorgio De Chirico, Carlo Carrà, Alberto Savinio and Filippo De Pisis. The denial of reality led them to create an alternative reality that they called Metaphysics. The world of muses and puzzles, worries and charms. Muse is my tribute to these guys.” (Fabio Novembre)
