Haru and So are a harmonious pair of hand-blown glass lamps, perfectly matched in terms of color, light and form, which can be used alone or combined with each other. The common patterns of the lampshade and external form create a unique and coherent aesthetic, complemented by the layered construction of hand-blown glass. The manipulation of the external form creates two distinct silhouettes with a balance of shapes and variations. The use of hand-blown glass adds texture and depth, resulting in a unique and functional work of art.
The HARU and SO glass lamp collection is a showcase of craftsmanship and a material-based approach to design. With a modern aesthetic, both lamps blend together, sharing a complementary language of radiating shapes. While SO curves upwards to precisely hug the diffuser, HARU has an inverted lip that invites light to escape: the shapes are hand-blown, so each, while seemingly precise, is subtly different. HARU and SO exude a solid, precious quality whose color is controlled by the thickness of the glass and the amount of colored glass added to the furnace during the blowing process. The lamps are handmade in Australia by skilled glass artists and use centuries-old glass craftsmanship transformed into modern forms.
