"The name of the collection - explains designer Valerio Sommella - refers to the shape of Japanese Mochi rice cakes." These are traditional Japanese cookies, made from ground and beaten rice, which produces a soft, white paste that is then given a rounded shape. The same soft shapes presented by young Italian designers in satin white blown glass for Fabbian. In these three new varieties, the Mochi have been renewed and multiplied until they now create spectacular multi-sphere pendant lamps. “The beam version is a natural evolution of the series,” explains Sommella, “and comes from the idea of promoting the use of suspension in smaller versions.” The detailed enlarged Mochi series consists of three models: one hanging lamp with a white ceiling lamp with a diameter of 40 cm and 13 balls grouped in a bunch, one hanging lamp with a round ceiling lamp with a diameter of 60 cm with 30 balls and finally a version with a rectangular ceiling lamp with dimensions 60x30cm, from which 18 balls hang at different heights. The Mochi balls of these three new models, made of white, satin-blown, blown glass, have a diameter of 12 cm and are illuminated by 20 W halogen bulbs.
