Product description

The hand-turned shade of this elegant floor lamp is made of delicate, lacquered metal strips that prevent glare by evenly dispersing light. The stripes form concentric circles of increasing size that come together to form an inverted bowl shape. The slim, curved neck has a polished brass collar that contrasts attractively with the black leather finish of the stand, hand-sewn in Finland. The lamp was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1955 for the State Pension Institute in Helsinki.
