Pilzkopfleuchten is a polyethylene table/floor lamp whose shade - a rounded, white cylinder made of hardened, weather-resistant polyethylene with a UV-protective coating - has been transformed to function as an illuminated box that can be used as a footstool or side table. will complement any armchair, sofa or bed. The box provides indirect lighting and has a solid wood surface that can be used as a seat or table. Cherry or oak comes from European forests.
The braided cable is standard in black and red, additional colors are available on request.

Bulb not includedWith its unique mushroom-like shape, the Pilzkopfleuchte became an integral part of roads and pedestrian paths in western Germany in the 1960s . Nowadays, street lamps that once decorated cities and influenced their appearance are gradually being replaced by LED-based technology. THPG designs give these aesthetically pleasing fixtures new life as one-of-a-kind indoor light sources.
Inspired by the original, which looks very similar to a British tin-topped lantern, THPG took two pieces of this fixture from original street lamps and turned them upside down legs, creating completely new designs. The Pilzkopfleuchte lampshade – a rounded white cylinder made of tempered, weather-resistant polyethylene with a UV-protective coating – now serves as an illuminated container that can be used as a footstool or side table. It also works independently as a minimalist overhead light source. Combined with the original sheet steel socket, it forms part of a unique enameled pendant lamp that evokes the look of the modern era.
The fixtures are made from actual street lamps that could be found throughout West Germany and were originally manufactured by Rota- Form, a North German plastics manufacturer that has produced seamless, tempered, unbreakable and chemically stable hollow bodies through rotational molding.
Because the lamps are made from original Pilzkopfleuchte street lamps, some of which have already been in use for 60 years, they can unevenness in the material or color may occur. Thanks to this, each item is one of a kind.
