Product description

The Silo floor lamp is a sculptural take on flare light. The lamp is placed on a base that borrows the language of the plinth to emphasize the presence of its profile. Silo is the new modular lighting collection from Lambert & Fils that inhabits many worlds at once. Made from 10-inch custom aluminum extrusions, the vertical light creates a theatrical, yet elegant composition. The collection, named after the historic grain silos that line Montreal's Old Port,
refers to brutalist architecture, evoking visions of concrete towers, cityscapes or wind chimes. As fascinating when turned off as it is when illuminated, Silo plays with negative space and reflections to magnify its surroundings while maintaining a unique simplicity. Embossing and exposed seams ensure continuity of shape, creating a rhythmic pattern.

The collection reinterprets an age-old manufacturing process, combining light and material to create something greater than their single form.
With three new finishes — mirror-polished aluminum, rolled aluminum and shiny oxblood — and held up by aerospace wires, the Silo is both weightless and imposing. The collection also introduces a new cumin-colored wire, intended to recreate the soft materiality of leather in an unexpected juxtaposition to the Silo's aluminum body.
