Because Alto, Archilume's classic gem, is finished at its base with a clear gem-like element resembling an artisan-cut diamond, the new Alto-Flat uses a flattened lens that radically changes the contour of the original setting. Its pristine, simplified, suspended conical form references a more minimalist architectural design language. The conical housing, made of aircraft-grade aluminum with anodized finishes, houses Archilume's signature use of total internal reflection optics. Hidden LED technology produces a warm glow ranging from full brightness of 3,000 degrees Kelvin to a dimmable color temperature of 1,800 degrees at 95 CRI. The lower part of the Alto-Flat frame is a clear acrylic lens with a matte bottom, emitting glare-free light. Like the entire Archilume lighting line, the Alto-Flat features a micro canopy, so it can be installed as a soloist or in a group, creating a unique choral light arrangement.
